At least you know where you stand if you are in the ballpark. An example is a '70 Chevelle was on there with no buy it now price. The bidding went to $34,800.00 but was a no sale. Now the car shows up again with a BIN price of $65,000.00. That's almost double the highest bid. I think the car is worth more than $35K but no where near $65K.

At least if you knew the BIN price was $65K and was way out of your price range, you can move on and continue your search and not waste time on an auction that you don't have a chance at.

Actually I like the "buy it now" or "best offer" ads.

To me eBay is just a form of advertising, there are so many scam, non paying bidders, people playing games I don't worry so much about the actual auction. Personally anytime I see something on eBay that has real interest, I try and call the seller. Same as when I'm selling a vehicle, I don't get excited by the bids,,if someone really wants a vehicle a direct contact is the true test.

I purposly don't put buy it now prices on my auctions. Depending on what the item is, the lack of a BIN can spark some pretty spirited bidding. Not all the time though.

I do the same. I have purchased 2 cars that were being listed on eBay, and didn't buy either of them through ebay. Called the seller each time, went to see the car, talked in person, and made the deal. If their ad had no way to contact them, I messaged them through eBay and asked for their contact info. While there are plenty of people that buy and sell through eBay each day, it's just not my cup of tea.:noway:
