How important are the bump stops/ snubbers an the upper front control arms...

I realize these limit the suspension travel to limit the upper ball-joint stress...

But on a street-car (not a drag car that will be lifting the front end really high), already lowered (even more travel needed to reach the limit), all new parts (new ball-joints, no fatigue), real-world driving, I can not see where these would come into play, except when jacking the front suspension up...

I see alot of street rod and circletrack cars without these, and they seem fine...

I've got the front end lowered about an inch and tubular arms that don't facilitate the bumpers at all. Only problem I've run into is the paint on the frame and the powdercoating on the upper arms getting damaged from contacting each other when the car is jacked up.

I've never had the lowers hit the frame.

I guess they aren't really necessary but if the suspension does travel that far, do you want the arms whacking into the frame or rubber stoppers? I'd be using them if I could.
