I'm in the process of adding power brakes to my 66. It has drums all around. I bought a booster and dual res. master cylinder combo from True Connections. When I went to bolt the booster to the studs on the firewall, I see there is no seal to prevent air/dirt from entering the passenger compartment. There is a bellows type rubber seal on the booster, but it doesn't form a complete seal to the round hole in the firewall. I called True Con. and asked if there should be a gasket, and they said no. I really expected more support from them, as they have been recommended by many on this site as being helpful.
I'm at a loss as to how to create a seal for this thing.

The org. is a billowed plastic. Visit your local salvage yard.

There is a plastic bellows on the booster, but it doesn't create a seal with the hole in the firewall - the booster mounts at an angle, so the bellows is at an angle to the firewall, too. There must be a separate part.

On my '69 there is that plastic bit to close the space between the firewall and booster, and a thick cloth material seal that goes in it. It doesn't really seal but just creates a barrier around the pushrod.
The material is similar to those rubber boots with the greyish liner booty in them. About twice as thick.
EDIT: The plastic bit on my booster is cut at an angle to allow it to fill the whole space from the booster to the firewall.

Call Steve Gregori at Gregori Auto Restoration www.brakeboosters.com (http://www.brakeboosters.com) . He can help you. You need that opaque white, hard plastic boot between the booster and your firewall.
