I bought new rear springs and I compared them to the old ones I took out which I know were shot. The difference in height is almost four inches with the old springs being taller (~16.5"). I triple checked the part numbers and I am sure I ordered them correctly. I expected the old springs to be shorter if anything. These new springs are the cheapos from NPD. I don't know if I should even install them? Does this make any sense to anyone?

Thats a pretty severe difference.
sounds like the new spring you got was for a lowered job. If not, they are going to ride
reeaaal hard.

I think it is severe too. I don't know if I should even put these in. They are not supposed to be lower but I did buy the HD ones. graemlins/clonk.gif
My mistake I guess. Do you think I should try them or just get some better ones? I did some searches and it seems others have purchased the Moog CC501 springs. I really don't want a stiff ride or the rear end to be high.

Like I said earlier, if these are the correct springs, the ride will be very stiff.
I would at least verify the spring dimension
with the manufacturer. Or, just go with what someone else has done. But, I would still verify
their suggestions or spring use.

It wouldn't be the first time a part was mis-marked. A phone call seems in order.
