i just installed a set of cc507 rear coils and the back end is a little higher than i like.my question is how long does it take for coils to settle if they do and how much. If it lowers an inch or two that would be nice. oh it's a 68 chevelle

I just took off taller springs that were on my car. I just installed CC501 springs and my car sits pretty low in the back. I have some shots in my sig. The car from fender lip to ground with 275/60/15s was 27 1/2" with my old coil, and its 25 1/2" now.

CC507's are taller than CC501's ... When I replaced my springs I when with a 5399 (I think that was the number, it as a 14" free ride height spring with 166lbs/in rate). Either way, I didn't notice any settling at all in the rear. Front springs settle, but then again, there is substantially more weight over the front end than the back.

I would just buy new coils, mine ran me 58 bucks @ carquest. If you start cutting them etc, it is just going to eat up more time than its worth. Ask around here lots of people have extra coils laying around that they installed for a week and odn't use now because to low to high etc. Check out hte classifieds.
