Recently I installed a big block in my car with a short water pump. When I installed the clutch fan, it would barely fit on the water pump shaft. I checked the water pump shaft and it measures .005" larger diameter than the small block pump that the fan was originally installed on. Where can I find a clutch fan that will fit this water pump? I suppose I could use an aluminum spacer with a steel 4 blade fan, but I would rather use the clutch fan.
I went to the parts store and measured another big block short water pump and found the same thing, .005" larger. Has anyone else had this problem?
