..i own a 70 ragtop, and a few years ago when the car was put on the road, i installed a stock pair of boxed-in lower arms, and boxed in the uppers..i also replaced the rubber bushings with ones from 'energy suspension'...a vast improvement, but the car still hops a little...now after a few years of driving, i want to upgrade...will after-market upper and lower arms eliminate the hop?..what will it do for the ride itself? (the car is a daily driver, but i could live with a rougher ride)...is a thicker sway bar needed/recommended?...thanks for the help...(also if someone could recommend an aftermarket company, that would be great:)

on my 68 chevelle ( wich I race alot ) i used to run a set of slapper bars (Lakewwod). They eliminated hop most of the time. Occasionally the rear would gently kinda bounce a little durring my burnout. Then i took off the slappers and installed southside machine lift bars. They lower the rear mounting point of the lower control arm. They are much more rigid too. They didnt affect Ride at all and actually improved handling. They also completly eliminate wheel hop. You can set your pinion angle with them too. Just recently I installed a set of Edelbrock double adjustable upper control arms. They improved handling and stability without sacrificing ride quality. I havent made a pass with them yet to see if they improve launch but they certainly wont hurt it. They also ad another dimention to pinion angle adjustment. I have friends that have run the Edelbrock upper and lower arms with the brackets that raise the rear (housing end) mounting point of the upper control arms. They seem to work well. Also note to improve handling on 68-72 chevelles you can add a front sway bar (1.25") from a 70-81 trans am or z-28. They bolt right on and with new polyurethane bushings you will be amazed at the difference it makes.

If drag-racing/street driving is all you plan to do, use SSM Style "Jegs Lift Bars" (SSM no longer makes them) for lowers and stock uppers with new rubber bushings. Works great at the track, and handles great for mild driving.
