I did a search and it seems like most people here are pretty set on the edelbrock IAS shock.

I think the KYB's in the front of my 68 are just to hard in combination with the polygraphite bushings and performance sway bar.

I am looking for a softer shock that take potholes and rough road like a champ. This is my daily driver! Any suggestions before I go get IAS.

Thanks

They cost a lot more but if that`s not a big issue give QA1 Stocker Stars a try. They`re 12 position adj. so you can set em exactly how you like em. #4 should fit the bill for you nicely. If not I`d go Bilstein,Koni then Edelbrock. We have them (Edelbrocks) on one of our shop cars (actually an Elky) and they`re good but unremarkable IMO. Marcus

What type of KYB's did you have (Gas-A-Just or GR-2)?

I had Gas-A-Just on my '72 Elk and they worked great when compared to stockers. I wanted a softer ride on my '65 Malibu so I ordered the GR-2's - I later replaced these with Gas-A-Just's because the GR-2's were too soft for my liking.

Edelbrock's IAS didn't do a thing for handling in a friend's '96 Yukon.

I have the gas-a-just and I feel there are to stiff when hitting bumps.

Looking for something that will ride better through the potholes and rough road.

The QA1's are a bit pricey!

I use the edelbrocks and i bought them specifically for street driving. I only got to drive on all 4 for about two days before my transmission went out but bumps that i would hit before with gabrial (autozone) shocks would hit hard and would feel a lot more road vibrations. With the edelbrocks i don't feel have the bumps that i did before and the real bad ones feel smooth. I like them a lot but they were quite expensive for me, but for the 4 days WELL worth it smile.gif
