does the master cylinder for manual brakes have a deep push rod hole? I went to a auto parts store and they showed me 2 that had the pushrod hole like what you would find on power brakes.

A manual brake MC should have the deep pusgrod hole... it keep s the pushrod from falling out of the hole.

See if they have a manual MC from a '77 Malibu 6 cylinder car... part number 1639. It has the deep hole, has a slightly smaller bore, and works good for the factory brakes.
