Hi guys, I bought a set of Ultra polished aluminum wheels for my truck (not cheap) a few years ago. I'm having nothing but problems with oxidation. I keep up with them and always keep them clean. I don't use harsh chemicals to clean them. How hard is it to refinish them? Is it something I can do myself? I don't have any special equipment. If not ,what can I expect to pay to have the four re-finished? Thanks guys!

I have Ultra aluminum wheels, and did the work myself. Didn't come out professionally perfect because I don't have the little buffs to get into the areas around the rivets, but it shows you how they can come out. Took about 1 1/2 hours of effort per wheel, using 600, 1200 wet sanding, then spiral buff with tripoli compund and loose buff with rouge compound. Used my electric drill for the buffing. The drill doesn't turn as fast as needed to really do a great job, but the results look OK. I've since redone them using a die grinder with smaller buffs and they came out better - don't have newer pics though.

I use the powerball and Mothers Mag polish to keep mine looking good. It takes a while if they are heavily oxidized, but will do a nice job also.
