Hello all!

I'm swapping in a 12 bolt from a 72 velle into my 72 this winter. I know that everything is a straight bolt up (cont. arms, brakes etc), but what if anything is different about the yokes?
Do I need a 12 bolt driveshaft to match the yolk on the 12 bolt?

Depends on what yoke the 12 bolt has on it.Keep in mind one of the upper control arms will need to be clearenced a little.

is the cast flange on the c-section larger on the 12?

The entire center section is larger and the mounting rings for the upper control arms are in the same spot relative to the 10 bolt. This requires the upper driver's side control arm to be radiused/clearanced about 1/4" where it would rub on the pumpkin. Easy fix but be advised to add a 1/8" piece of metal all around the outside of the control arm where you clearanced to add strength and piece of mind.

Heres a couple pics I took at the time,10 bolt arm 12 bolt rear you can see where it touches.Glen Lever(not sure of his on line name)here actually sold me the reinforcing piece that was mentioned.Other small side note the brkt that holds the brake lines to the upper 10 bolt cover will need to be changed as there is no bolt at the 12 oclock posistion on a 12 bolt.
