Please see the following page that I scanned from the assembly manual.

I'm putting my rear suspension back together and want to make sure that I'm reading the manual correctly. There is a reference to 'Bushing Lockup Dimension'. The manual reads that a dimension of 5" should be achieved between the axle tube and curved section of frame before tightening control arm bolts. This dimension is currently 10" on my car(body is off frame). Should I somehow compress suspension so I get 5" and then tighten bolts?

dont tighten the bolt all the way until you get everything sitting at normal ride hight and ride weight. wait untill you get the body back on.

Thats what I was kind of thinking. I'm assuming that when these cars were built, bodies were lowered on to complete chassis'. Maybe by getting this 'Bushing Lockup Dimension' at 5", it would be simulating body weight on the frame. That way the workers would not have to go back and retighten everything. Do you think that logic is correct?
