I just lost the drivers side rear disc at 5k miles on the brakes. I don't autocross or really beat on the brakes, but I do like to use them..
But.. The pass side looks OK, although i am going to put new pads in to save me the cost of another cross drilled/slotted rotor.
Someone I talked to associated this with parking brake drag.
I also noticed, today, when I shut the car off and rolled down a hill, then stopped, that the rear discs were _way_ hotter than the front.
Anyone speculate why?
I really love the brakes on my car (baer track front, baer rear discs out back), but failure at 5k annoys me.
I am lucky to have noticed it, it was sheer luck I heard it with the engine running, because you can't hear it with the engine running when you are checking for it..
