I was looking into a 1966 chevelle that looked in good shape but was auto, so how hard/ how much does it cost in order to change an automatic to a manual. and the car has a console shifter between the seats by the way.

thanks nick

Don't go to all that trouble. Change to a 700R4. Low first gear and overdrive.

Yeah, but a stick is way more fun to drive.

Cost: A lot depends on if you buy new or used parts at a discount, what type of transmission, bellhousing(SFI spec.?), etc.

Difficulty: not too bad. '64-'67s need the frame bracket welded on, '68-'72s the bracket bolts on. You will also need to weld in a shifter hump, whether it be for a console or non-console is your choice.
