Any of you guys that responded to the thread about designing your own truck bars systems, about 67 months ago, got any farther with your projects?

I am still in the planning process smile.gif It is hard to get much of a break while in Pharmacy School everyday. So far my plans are to modify a rear crossmember off of a 67-72 chevy truck that had truck arms to fit my frame and buy used nascar units from muscle motorsports for about 50.00 bucks each. I have been really studying all the magazines with the HTH install articles. A set of their instructions would be really neat to get.... On the front of my 67, I just bought the howe adjustable center link and was taking some measurements to get it all sorted out. The C5 brake brackets and spindles are good to go, I just lack enough time and money to make any noticable progress.

Oh.. I also ended up with a set of the magnesium 50th anniversary C5(16 lbs each) wheels this week. They are a little scratched from the tire removal but for 250.00 dollars I aint
bi#$%ing :D

good luck with pharmacy school. My wife and her entire family are in medicine, most in pharmacy. Great career. Keep me posted on the suspension as I am really interested in the development of a system that is more affordable then the HFH system.

I was going to but just decided it wasn't worth the work for a convert using a stock type frame.

I'm presently eyeing up a complete C5 drivetrain and suspension that I know of and am seriously thinking about a C5 Beaumont or a C5 Camaro since I also know where a 69 Camaro is sitting that's fairly rough and needs floors anyways. I have a real itch to build something really custom if I'm going to be building something.

Talk to Tyler Beugaurd (sp, sorry Tyler), he is building a 69 Camaro with C5 suspension and one off custom built panels. Tylers company (http://www.t56kit.com/movie.html) He is the master of the LS1/T56-modern suspension in F body conversion.

I have one question about the "truck arm" suspensions. How narrow of an axle can you run with this setup?

I'd like to put a truck-arm setup on my tubbed '64 wagon, but I want to run massive rear tires like a 345/50/17. I'm just not sure if I can even do it with the truck arms mounting so far outboard on the axle.

There is no "spec" for how narrow the axle can be. The arms should mount as far outboard as possible.
