So what all is involved?, I pulled the dash pad out, started undoing the bolts that hold the cluster in but now it seems like there might be a couple underneath I Can't get to??? Anyone done this? or can help enlighten me on this?

my reason for getting into the cluster is installing a tachometer in the place where the clock would normally go.

Did you remove the bolts from the steering column and let it drop down. That should help, but usually it is easier to remove the whole dash, then the cluster. I've only done it a few times but I always remember what my daddy used to say, "if you have time to fix what you break trying to do it the easy way, or time to do it over, you have time to do it right the first time."

Employ extra help: if you let either side of the dash go unsupported, you risk cracking the dash itself. Be sure to get bolts going to the body. Take your time, find all of them, and be patient. From what I remember, its important to take out the whole dash to correctly get the cluster out.

Thanks for the input guys, i'm not pulling the entire dash, I found an easier way to slap my tach in there. Will post a picture when i'm done!
