Hey guys, i am looking for traction improvement on my current setup. I am running a 12 bolt posi 3.55 gear rear end with 7/8 in factory swaybar and boxed lower control arms. Air shocks and new oem springs. Tires are dunlop GT qualifiers 265/50/15 that i can burn off easily. I will be running slicks at the track and was wondering if the SSM bars were the next step in my quest for traction.

Issue though is that i like to drive the car on the road and i appreciate handling as much as any guy. I don't want to put these on, go into a turn unprepared, and kill myself :( Anyone have experience with these on the street, or are there other traction options i should be looking into first besides the obvious of tires. Thanks a lot guys.

I think they help the car handle nicely. I rebuilt my suspension originally with hotchkiss lowers. To fix the wheel hop, I changed to the SSMs, and I didn't notice any loss of handling capability. In fact, it might even handle better!

I'm not sure if SSM's are the best bet for a canyon carver, but you certainly don't need to worry about unpredictable loss of control. smile.gif

I added SSM Lift bars to my car and it made a world of difference with traction, and i noticed the rear end was A LOT more stiff around corners.

The car just seems to plant a lot more then the original unboxed lower control arms. And when i make turns it definatly seemed to make a difference in the body roll (LESS)

My current setup is
12 bolt posi rear
SSM Lift Bars
Stock Uppers
Stock springs & gabrial shocks

In the next month i plan to replace my stock upper bushings with poly, get some new original springs, and edelbrock shocks. The shocks made such a difference in my friends camaro i just had to see what they do to a 4 link setup.

Just to add a note SSM LIFT BARS ARE AWESOME, and they only cost like $150 or something.

Did mine with some help in about 4 hours.

Add one more thing, add some more grease tot he fittings mine started to squeak about a month after i installed them and they just needed some more lube, so you might want to lube them up a little more during the installation. Also the drivers side was a tight fit around the ebrake cable (but it fit).
