I have located a 289 casting 454 block. The owner says it is STD bore. IF it is STD bore what would it be worth (as long as everything else checks out).

I'm planning on taking a drive and look at it this weekend?

Thanks
Dan

Ever notice we have a "What's it Worth" section? Please post your WiW questions there. Moving this.

2 or 4 bolt main? Around $200 to $300 for a good 2 bolt bare block. $500 or so if it's 4 bolt main.

I don't think it really matters if it's standard bore,As long as it is boreable without going more than about .060 preferably .040 ..JMO.That is a service replacement block so it isn't going to be original to anything

PM'd you, I'm not far and can generally locate plenty of Mark IV and Gen 6 blocks and engines. Let me know if I can help...

Will the new blocks handle 550 hp reliably? also what other parts are different?
