I searched all the threads concerning 69 Chevelle highlight bezels ~ WOW ~~ and did not find the answer to this question. OK - so here it goes ~~~ 69 headlight bezels have three screws 1 one the upper sides of the left and right and one on the bottom. Get ready, I must be missing something here ~~ how does the bottom screw attaches to what part?

Sounds like you're missing lower bezel brackets. These are what the screws mount to.

Those lower bezel brackets mount to the splash pan (sheet metal piece between the grille and bumper) by rivets. Repros are available (see pics above). The bezels attach to the brackets by a long screw that goes into a plastic insert which snaps into the bracket. The plastic insert looks a little like a license plate screw insert.

Dan - very good info from Von & UlySSes I just went through this last winter. Take your time don't get frustrated because it is a pain sqweezing your fingers into tight places to hold stuff. The repos do come with nuts & bolts. -tim-

Von do you ever sleep? Thank you! I remember seeing these brackets removed prior to the paint job but looks like the body man missed these when re-installing the grille / headlight buckets ~~
