Jeff,

The small block 1 piece rear seal engines are all external balance according to GMPP. I know the flywheel I installed on my ZZ4 had a counterbalance weight on it, and the flexplate I took off did also.

Google is your friend. The GMPP parts book lists an internal balance 1-piece rear seal flywheel for the ZZ427 and the 572's. Found one here (http://www.karlperformanceparts.com/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=127) GMPP P/N 12582964. Their description is incorrect for the P/N they are listing. Also found it here (http://www.crateenginedepot.com/Pressure-Plates---Flywheels---Flexplates-C30.aspx) with the correct description.

Thanks Tim, i found out that small blocks and big blocks are the same even in the 1 piece stuff except for the 572 which has the big hub and not the small hub,,and your right google is my friend ,,i wish i was smart enough to have bought stock in it  thanks again Jeff

Jeff,

According to GMPP's catalog, the big-block flywheels are ALL a 3.58" hub. The new 1 piece rear seal small-block flywheels are 3.o"

Pretty bizarre how these tech support dudes are. In their online catalog they list different part numbers for the ZZ572, the other big-blocks and the late model small-blocks (non LS of course). From everything I can find, if you find any flywheel that will work on a ZZ572, you have a internal balance flywheel for 1 piece rear main seal big-block.

If there's that much diverging information, why not just call a GM/Chevrolet dealership and ask their parts department? Seems logical to me.

mike its not a factory deal, they dont make a internal balance late model 454,so logic dont get it with the dealership
