Well, for the past few days, i've noticed a squealing in the brakes when i applied them. Now, they squeal constantly! So, i pulled the front wheels and spun the disc and it is dragging on the pads! The passenger side is the one making the noise but the drivers is going to start soon. I also noticed that they are glazed so i'm gunna fix that with the lathe at school, but i was wondering what is causing the squealing? Could it be a combo of old pads and a glazed rotor? Also, when changing the pads, do i have to bleed them? Thats the other problem, the moron who had the car before COMPLETELY stripped the bleeder screws!!! What is the best way to get them out? Or is easier to get the whole cylinder? BTW, already tried vise-grips and had no luck! Thanks!

If they are bonded pads, that contributes to the problem and I always spray some sort of anti squeal substance on every pad I install. You usually don't have to rebleed when replacing pads and if you have broken off bleeders, the best way to repair is a pair of exchange loaded calipers and yes you have to rebleed after changing calipers.

Well, technically they arent broken off yet, they are just a perfect circle! BTW, how much does a loaded caliper usually cost? Thanks

Don't know about your area, but here about $40 or so each.

If the brakes are dragging, the pistons might be stuck. I would follow Leo's advise and just replace them. Check Auto Zone's or Advance's web sites, I think you can get them cheaper than $40 if you turn in the old ones for cores.
