: Good Spring and Shock Combo?

This is a father-son project car, 72 Chevelle with a 350/350 with air. I've heard mixed reviews on Hotchkis springs, though I like the idea of dropping the car about an inch. This is pretty much going to be street driven. Any plusses or minuses on KYB shocks? Any other recommendations regarding spring/shock combinations. We're going to use stock A-arms and polygraphite bushings but don't want to get too exotic. Any suggestions? Thanks.

seems to be the norm for hotchkis 1 inch drop springs and kyb shocks if you read this post Topic: Hotchkis 1" springs, sway bar, and AGR Steering box. WHAT a difference!!!! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=008010
seems to be impressed with the hotchkis ive picked up suspension techniques 1 inch drop springs with tokico shocks for my car due to availabilty and have been told there is not much difference except the name on the springs; and the shocks are a brand that a mostly made for newer cars and thought I would try them out on my ride but you cant go wrong with kyb or maybe you want to try edelbrock IAS shocks i have heard good things about both graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I have the IAS shocks on mine with just the Edelbrock springs and Energy Suspension bushings up front. The rear bushings are OE 1971 with no sway bar and just the stock pencil thin one up front. Oh, yeah, and B-body brakes.
I understand are a good "bang for the buck" shock but I LOVE my Edelbrocks. I can really corner with confidence and the car stays pretty flat.

I have Hotchkis 1" lowering springs and KYBs all around. I like them a lot for a street car. Also have 1-1/4" sway bar up front, no bar in the rear but I have SSM bars which stiffen the rear up a little.

The ride is nice as is the lowered stance.

I just finished using the Hotchkis 1" springs and their big sway bars (that's my post referenced above) but I use bilsteins all around. Heard good things about the KYB's and I'm sure they will work just as well.
