While the 65 is resting for winter I want to upgrade it for a bit better handling. After searching here it seems new shocks like maybe kyb would help. I have no rear sway bar now, how much difference does it make to handling? Who makes sway bars for a 65?

Thanks

Jerry

Jerry I have a 64 velle. I did a suspension upgrade with lowered ebach spring, touring shocks,1-1/4 front swaybar, disc brakes and a 7/8th's rear bar, boxed control arms. I also changed the steering box to a quick ratio. You would'nt know it was the same car to drive....Ralph :D

The part number for the sway bar is 394926. I know that www.partszoneonline.com (http://www.partszoneonline.com) (This is P&G Chevrolet in Slovan, Pa) had one in stock a little while ago. Their price is $69.32 but you can call them up and talk to a real person and they ship UPS so it should only be about $9.00 or $10.00 to ship it. If you call them or email them Bill Sr. is the guy you want to talk to, he is the Parts Manager. Tell him Bryan Shook sent you, I live up the hill from this dealership and these guys are the best. There is a picture of the sway bar on their website if you enter the part number.

I would also recommend a quick ratio power steering upgrade ... this really makes the car a lot more enjoyable to drive especially once you start to stiffen the car up a little with the other handling mods.
