Has anyone had any experience with the conversion kit by Engineered Components Inc.? Claims to fit on drum brake spindles, billet hubs and adapter brackets to mount stock GM calipers and rotors, according to their site www.ecihotrodbrakes.com, (http://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com,)
would like some opinions on it before ordering.

Many years ago,I used ECI's 84-87 Corvette four-wheel disc kit on my 40 Ford coupe streetrod. They worked great and never had a problem with them in almost ten years. Ralph really knows his stuff.

I bet they would benifit from a lot more buisness if the could spell camAro right.
Looks like a decent kit, but i would just spend the extra few bucks and get disk spindles if i were you, keeps everything stock for replacement/originality purposes. Just my opinion.

Will continue trying to get the spindles, so far keep getting outbid on E-Bay. I called ECI and they have made a billet hub that fits on the drum spindles, then add to it rotor from rear '79-81 Trans Am. They only guarantee a fit with 15" wheels, as the rotors are 11-3/16. I have 14" Magnum wheels from a '69 EC, so there may not be enough clearance for the calipers.

Have you talked to Baer? They sell various disc brake kits that use the drum spindles.

I have used the ECI 84 Corvette brakes many years ago on a mustang 2 clip in a 40 Ford. Ralph is a great guy who makes a great product. I have read about people making the Disc Brake spindle vs. drum comparisons. The only differance is the upper bolt flat surface is cut a little deeper for the disc brake caliper bracket. A disc spindle can be used on the drum conversion (willwood, ECI, Baer etc) with a spacer of about .125". You can also mill a drum spindle down and turn it into a disc. I have done both with excelent results.
