Does anyone have any preference on where they buy replacement body panels from? Which is better Ausleys, Paddock?? etc... Or are they all about the same. I dont have the $$ in the budget for NOS GM panels, so I have to go aftermarket.

Hey Jeff,
Honestly, most retailers buy their panels from two different manufacturers, Dynacorn and Golden Legion. You're right that NOS stuff is very expensive. The repro metal is hit or miss. Just remember that whatever way you go, repro or NOS, there is still some body massaging that must take place. Just as an example, my 1970 had one NOS quarter panel (the drivers side) and one repro quarter panel. There was a clear difference in the quality of the stamping and the minor errors on the repro panel. The shop had to do a little cut and weld on the area around the top above where the striker latch is to make the door gap fit correctly on the repro. The NOS panel went in perfect with only some minor rash on the outer surface. The repro panel wasn't BAD, it just needed more work to fit than the NOS. Since you are in PA, you should come down to the fall Carlisle show and pick up your panels there at a discount and save on the shipping. You can be as careful as you like when transporting them home. Just a thought.

Beware the dynacorn fenders i have a friend who did 1.5 mil last year with them and he dropped them because of poor fit.

I went to this website and did a search. Beat most of the prices listed on the net.
http://www.restorationperformance.com All the same suppliers and different prices. Shop around however from with our sponsors also as they give good rates. I think you have to be a paying member for the special prices they offer however.

Thanks for the info! Actually that was my plan, I have been going to Carlisle for the past 15 years or so, spring and fall every year. That is kind of why I am asking now, since most of the big catalog guys are there and like you said save on shipping and possibly get a better price.
