: Need One Front Wheel Hub for Drum Brake

I am doing the LS1 F-Body front brake swap on my 68. I had some old drum brake hubs which were in good condition. I cleaned them, but in new races, studs, and turned the OD to fit in the F-Body rotor. Unfortunately, one of the hubs has a wobble to it. I swapped the hubs L-R and the wobble stays with the hub. I removed the races and installed another new set in and the problem persists.

Question is where to find another old hub? These are less than desirable and I assume they often get tossed when converting to discs. Places like RockAuto don't seem to have them listed and I am not sure I would want to put on some offshore hub on my car.

Ideas? Thanks

Sorry - got this in the wrong section. Can the moderator please move to the brake/suspension forum?

I have a set of front drum brakes/hubs/spindles I just pulled off of my '68. I'd really like to sell the set, but haven't even cleaned them up yet. Everything is there and worked fine when I pulled them off. If you want to make an offer on the set you can sell whatever you don't use. The only thing I need are the steering arms. The rest is for sale. You can see them if you click the link to my pictures.

Set the hub up on the spindle with the bearings adjusted just a little on the tight side so there is no play. Knock the studs back out first. Set up a dial indicator and mark the high point and record the amount of runout. Remove hub, and spend some time setting it up on a lathe until the amount and location of the runout is exactly the same. Machine for a perfect fit. A clever person could even do this on a brake lathe I'll bet. Good luck, Jim.

I have one also, yours for shipping cost and small fee to drive it to UPS store. Removed from a 72 El Camino.
