Just curious if anyone has tried these or has a 3" drop. I was going to use them on the Elco and wanted to get some feedback about any ride and clearance problems with them.

I've got the 2" front springs. They look dead sexy and clear a 225/50/15 just fine. The car doesn't run yet but I bet they ride pretty rough. OK with me, though. I would imagine with the same size front tire and a 27" ish tall tire in the back you be fine on the clearance with the 3" ers.

Yeah, I've got the 3" dropped OPG springs. My 71 El Camino is toooo low. Bottoms on driveways, when driving on freeway and hit a bump it is almost uncontrollable. Have bottomed out on my pan, dinged the drain plug and have alignment problems. I do not recommend! Also wheels rub in front just turning at low speeds in a parking lot. I am taking them out and putting 2" dropped spindles with stock height springs. I'll sell you my 3" drops if you have a death wish. Sorry this is from the horse's mouth!

Thanks for the reply. Thats definitely a good thing to find out ahead of time. Guess I should be glad I asked. Looks like its time to check out the 2" drop stuff.

Scotty,

Have a couple of questions, as the first time I lowered my car I had what seemed like a lot of problems until I started fixing things one by one.

1. Oilpan... Is it stock or an aftermarket deep pan?
2. Front Wheels and Tires... what size wheel and tire are you running up there?
3. What shocks are you using? How old are they?
4. Are you running full length or shorty headers? My fulllengths got smashed in a pretty short order after I lowered mine... once I ran shorties with some exhaust work I honestly dont scrape that much.

Lastly... do you have any pictures of your car with the 3" springs? I ask, because I need to get rid of my rear springs but I REALLY want my car to stay as low as it is.. Ive even thought that the 3" springs might not drop it low enough.

2" front, 3" rear. No problems even with huge tires in the back. Front does rub a little but tire is pretty big. pix and info on homepage.

Stock pan, stock exhaust manifolds, stock 15 x7 5 spoke factory SS wheels. 225x60 15 tires. New Monroe shocks. Probably should upgrade shocks! Mushy bumpy ride with lots of bottoming out! I'll work on pix.Live off of Pine Valley. Candy dark red with silver SS stripes!

Scotty, if you look to sell those springs, send me an email at bacchus@Inwave.com. I'm pretty interested in trying them out.
