I would just like to hear some opinions on P.S.T's polygraphite front end kit. Do the bushings squeak? How is the overall performance of the kit, is there better kits made by other manufactures????Is there a better deal out there? Thanks

Just finished installing Polygraphite PST Super Front on my 71 and am very satisfied with the results. No squeaks at all. Great solid ride. I replaced coil springs, shocks, centerlink too and cleaned/repainted all parts and under the car - looks better than the top now smile.gif I did have to switch rear springs though as the first set of heavy duty springs was too bouncy - second set is CC501 variable rate spring which seems to have better ride.

I redid my 69 in 1996 with a PST front end kit. I also installed PST front springs. It was my first front end rebuild and the instructions were simple. I think a video was included. I've never had any problem with squeaks. I was amazed at how much less body roll I had. I have been very pleased with PST.

I'm wanting to do this also. Do you need any special tools to do the job and how long did it take. I do have alot of tools but not alot of special tools. I'm sure a front-end alignment is in order also, right?

Thanks,

It wasn't that hard. I would guess it took me about 8 hours total to pull it apart and put it back together. The 8 hours was over a couple of weekends because I had to take the control arms to someone and have the old bushings pressed out and the new ones installed. I rented a spring compressor and a pickle fork. Compressing and releasing the springs was probably the most time consuming thing I did. I had to rent the compressor twice because I pulled the front end apart one saturday and put it back together a different day. Everything else bolted up with no problems.

I forgot to add, you definately have to get a front end alignment done. The instructions explain to measure the old tie rod lengths and match it to the new ones so you can drive to get the alignment.

David, thanks on the info. I think im gonna go with this kit, Poly Super Front End Kit (PST). Did you change your center link? Looks like the rest of the parts are in the kit.

Thanks,
