: What backspacing for a 67 chevelle??

I HAVE A STOCK 67 CHEVELLE SS WITH A 396..STOCK SPRINGS IN THE FRONT...THE CAR CAME WITH DRUM BRAKES,.I BOUGHT STOCK AFTERMARKET DISC'S FOR THE FRONT AND THE REAR IS THE FACTORY 67 WIDTH 12 BOLT WITH THE DRUMS ON THE REAR..I WANT TO RUN 17 INCH TT2'S..17X7 IN THE FRONT AND 17X8 IN THE REAR..DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT BACKSPACING I NEED?? THANKS TEAM CHEVELLE..:thumbsup:IM GUESSING 4.1/2 IN THE FRONT AND 4.3/4 IN THE REAR????:confused:

Bill,I have 17" Boyd Coddington Maganeatos on my '66. The frt. are 17X7,4" bs.,with 235/45/17,rear,17X8,4 1/2" bs.,255/45/17. Stock suspension and drum brakes..Bob

Bob,..mine right now are 17x8 (4 inch bs) and 17x9 (5 inch bs) on the rear..im running 235/45/17 on the front and 255/50/17 on the rear..and they rub of course!!..I SEEN THE PICS OF YOURS ..I WANT THE QUARTER TRIM EVEN WITH THE RIM..ANOTHER WORDS I WANT TO DROP MINE DOWN A LITTLE..NICE RIDE BY THE WAY!!:thumbsup:

Just put on TTII's 17X8 with 4 inch BS front, and 17X9.5 rear with 5.5 BS. No problems.
