I am converting my 67 from front drums to discs and have 14" ralley wheels on the car. The wheels have the code "yw" stamped on them. Does anyone know if they will accomodate disc brakes?

I'm pretty sure you'll have to switch to 15 inch rims. The shape of the inside of the 14s will not accomodate the calipers.

As I understand it some of the 14's will fit the calipers and some not. Apparently it goes by the code on the wheel in my case "yw". I'm not sure if my wheels are the right size. I thought that the ralley wheels were used for disc brake cars in 67 but I could be wrong.

1st gen camaros could be had with disc brakes and 14" wheels. I don't know the wheel codes though.

Does anyone know if chevelles in 67 came with both 14" wheels and disc brakes?

My answer wasn't chevelle specific but if you want to convert to discs it lets you know it can be done with 14" wheels!

I thought there were codes for the wheels and what they were originally intended to be used for. Some for discs and some for drums. I am going to switch to orginal chevelle brake parts and spindles as opposed to trying to piece together a system from other cars.

Does anyone know if chevelles in 67 came with both 14" wheels and disc brakes? All 1967 Chevelles had 14-inch wheels, and all 1967 disc brake Chevelles had ralleys.

I don't know the codes on the wheels, but

I am pretty sure ALL Chevelles (64-72) used 14-inch wheels. No 15-inchers used.

Ralleys were used on disc brake cars, usually unless "SS" wheels were used (1969, 1970, or later "Heavy Chevy" type wheels). I don't think any Chevelles came with discs and "standard" wheels (with full wheel covers, etc). I don't think the early standard wheels were designed for the discs. The ralley have the large oval holes that help cool the discs.

1967/1968 discs were different from 1969-1972 discs, so the wheels may not interchange (never tried though).

I would think the Ralleys would work, but might not be the correct offset.

It also depends on what disc setup you have...
