Hello everyone, I am looking for information about an engine that I purchased that was attached to a custom 1971 boat. I think I know what I have but, I want to double check to make sure the hole in the water was worth my time.
The engine block has 3963512 cast into it also GM/1/conv1 and what looks to be 1 10 9 cast on the other side.
The heads have 3964291 cast into them with GM5T, L 6 9 and HI-PERF cast also.
The engine only has about 200 hours on it and under the valve covers looks new.
It has an Edelbrock intake and Holley carb.
I was told the intake and carb were stolen and replaced with the aftermarket ones.
Any help confirming the identity and a possible value would be appreciated.
Thanks
Keith

The vin /engine I.D.numbers and letters on the block behind the water pump would be helpful. So far from your info sounds good.

Do I need to remove the water pump cover to get the numbers? This is in a hole in the water so the configuration is a little different.
Thanks

I'm not sure about the boat set-up waterpump. But there still should be a angled flat spot where the pass side head meets the block that has the additional info needed.Where in Va. are you?

block "1" should be read as an "I" so it decodes to Sept 10 1969
heads "L" is Dec so they decode to Dec 6 1969

I found out by the ID number it says it is a 70 Chevelle 454 450HP MT. Could it have been built in 69 and put in a 70?
