I have a minor leak where the front line connects to the master cylinder. I'm assuming it is in the fitting that screws into the master cylinder. Assuming this is correct, can I use teflon tape on it to help create a seal? Or will the brake fluid eat up the teflon? If it ends up being in the line instead of the fitting, is my best option to replace the entire line?

Thanks in advance.....................Mark

The seal is made by the flare in the tubing mating up with a machined inverted flare in the master cylinder.

I'd be verifying that the tubing flare hasn't cracked, the master cylinder inverted flare isn't distorted; and the fitting isn't loose.

Teflon tape won't be damaged by brake fluid--but it also isn't required to make the seal. The threads are not a seal; they just clamp the flares together.

That makes sense... I'll check all that here in a bit.
