Having trouble removing the top nut [The one that doubles as the anchor for the brake springs]. 67 with stock drums and spindles. Tried a loooong bar for leverage, lots of PB Blaster, and even heating with a propane torch. Am I missing something? The other 2 bolts were tough, but not outrageous - Any Ideas????

I had to use an impact to get that bolt off once. Their nasty to get loose!

Did you bend the ears of the washer behind over and I had to use an impact,too.

Thanks for the input guys, I did bend those ears, so I guess I just need [in the words of Tim "The ToolMan" Taylor] - "MORE POWER"

same thing happened to me. I used a foot long extension bar plus my jack handle which is 4 feet. Thing came off easily then.
