I have a newly acquired 70 El Camino SS with classical symtoms of a poor dash ground. The fuel gauge is reading way over full, and the dash lights dim when the blinkers are used. How exactly is the dash grounded? Thanks,

the cluster is grounded by a black ground wire that is screwed to the metal body of the back side of the cluster,i think the other end of the ground is screwed to the bracket on the left side of the steering column.
