I just got done doing alot of searching on this site about being able to run 295/65/r15 mt et streets on a 15x10 rim with 5.5 bs. I just want to make sure that they will fit my 70 chevelle. If anything I might have to do alittle trimming on the outer lip. Hopefully I am correct I would like to place my order sometime this week. Not sure if it matters the springs are stock and I have varishock single adjustable shocks. I dont want to get them and then they dont fit.

I recently bought a 15 X 10, 5.5 bs rim and P29550r15 Firehawk Indy 500 on the rear of my 1970 Chevelle. The section with is 12.2 " (widest part of tire). I have 3/4" between tire and frame well and looks like it will fit without cutting fender lip. There is a 1/4 " gap between tire and the rear shock. According to Summit racing web site the ET street Radial you want to put on car, has a 12.4 " section width. The only problem I see is that the tire will be pretty close to the rear shock. Based on the 12.4 " section width, I would put the shock on and then take some measurements. Since you are going to use a 10 inch wide rim. Use a straight edge and rest against brake drum, then measure to the back and front. Checking how far the shock and back of fender wheel are from the brake drum and how far it is to fender lip. THe difference between the measurements and half of 12.4 " (approx. 6 1/4 ") will give you the clearence you will end up with. Check both sides as they could be different. It will be close. Hope this helps.

It's a shame no one makes a 9" rim. 9" rim with 5" BS would make it a lot easier to fit that size tire. Tire spec says they can be ran on a 8" rim. just seems kinda narrow. 9" rim would pull the sidewall in just enough to have a comfort zone.

I got them under my 70 Chevelle. 15x10 with 5.5 inch backspace. My wheelwells are slightly modified with a hammer and the molding has been cut and rolled at the top (it was already done when I purchased the car). So far so good. They havent hit yet and I have had two over 200 lb people in the car.
Although I only have about 200 street miles on them (no track time yet), my first impression is extreemly positive. They hook way better on the street than any slick I have run and they dont grab everything off the street and throw it on my paint.
Very happy with the purchase.
Here is a link to the only pic I have with the tires so far:

I run them on a 15x10 with 5.5 BS. They fit very nice ,but did have to roll the lip.
Once the lip was rolled - I can fit my fingers between the tire and body and also the tire and frame.

And will this same tire fit on the '69 with a 8" wheel?
