Anyone know where to get a diagram of a 66 Column non-tilt. I took it apart and I really don't think it was together correctly in the first place. Just want to make sure before it goes back together. I also need a place to get the rebuild parts. Seems everyone has lower parts but not the upper washers-spacers etc. Thanks for your help.

I'm hoping you get a good answer Bob. I have a little wiggle in the upper section of my column that wasn't there before I took it apart. Something's wrong.

I've got the same wiggle. I also cant get the spring back in, it seems to bind up before the steering wheel is seated.
Could someone scan in the sheet of the assembly manual? pretty please?

I found a rough copy and I have a copy from my assembly manual. I can fax them too you if you wish. Even with a new t/s switch I am not able to get it back the way it was but it is back together, with a larger gap then I would like. My theory is that the old swith which I stupidly threw out before I had it back together was a little different then the new. I could not re-install the last top spacer that fits betwen bottom of switch to the bottom of the top collar. I think the repl. has a longer (Deeper) collar and it was intented to do away with that spacer. If you install the switch into the top and look at the bottom you will see how much it sticks out the end. I have another one I broke playing with and I am going to shorten (grind the plastic collar)the collar in the test one. I am going to try to find time this weekend to play with it some more.

I know exactly what your talking about with the larger gap. The cup that holds the turn signal switch is too far from the column right? Could I send you a private message tomorrow with my work fax?

The gap is an easy fix, just loosen the 2 column mounting bolts and the clamp at the base and slide the column up. then tighten it back down.

Yep, you just loosen the bolts and slide the tube to where it should be. Or, if you did not know about the bolts....
I more or less moved the firewall mount to the right place with some gentle tapping with a mfh. Ended up moving the tube and shell up to meet the wheel, and then tapping the firewall mount downward.
