I have a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 and I'm changing the brake power booster and the rod that comes out the front is so stiff and I can't get the Master Cylinder to go up against the booster so I can bolt it on??? How do you get that rod to go in, or how do you get the master cylinder bolted on??? Thanks Steve

are you sure you have correct master cyl? 70 and older boosters have a longer rod than 71 and up, the hole in 70 m/c should be deep

The cylinder that pushes in on the back of the master cylinder is all the way out and it's super hard to push it in? Maybe if I take the cap off the master? Steve

so that means if I have a 71 master cylinder on a 70 brake booster that might be why my brakes dont get enough power to lock?
I know the master cylinder looks nothing like the one that came from the other car and it seems kinda small in comparison. has a 2 small round dome cam instead of a small round and big rect one

yes it pulls out from the front, just make sure it goes all the way back in or your brakes will be applied
