What do you seal the heater box to the firewall (front and back) with? Do you just use the gasket sets? When placing sound dampner along the floor, should I avoid that area or???

Thanks,

I used 3M Dum-Dum to seal mine, Not sure of the actual name (strip caulk?) of the stuff but it is in a blue box and comes in strips about 12" long and 3/16 diameter.

The 3M strip caulk is perfect to use to seal the part of the box in the engine compartment to the firewall. The box in the interior of the car doesn't need any sealer, but the firewall pad must be in place as the studs on the box pass through the pad and the opening of the box seal against the edges of the pad. A good portion of the passenger side of the pad is held in place by the interior heater box.
