I am finishing up on my manual disc brake install. When I put the rod through to the pedal I move it up to the upper hole in the pedal arm from where it was when I had power brakes.

Is there a return spring that hooks up to the pedal ? When I take the bracket off of the pedal arm for the brake light switch do I just let it hit the pedal arm instead of a bracket ?

Thanks !

For manual brakes, you use the uppermost hole on the pedal, and yes, you need to install a return spring on the pedal. The factory used a little spring steel clip that fit under the pin for the clevis, and the spring hooked to a little tang punched into the stamped plate that supports the pedals above the steering column. You will probably have to adjust your brake light switch so the spring can pull the pedal back against the rubber bumper. With the return spring holding the pedal against the rubber bumper, adjust the pushrod so you have about .25" of pedal travel before the pushrod contacts the master cylinder.
