I bought new shoes for my '70 a few weeks ago. I went to put them in and was reminded that one shoe is shorther than the other shoe. I looked EVERYWHERE to verify which goes where to no avail. The shoes I took off were the same length so that was no help. I now know the shorter shoe faces the front of the car.

I read somewhere some time ago that guys were buying 2 sets of shoes to put the longer shoe in the front and back of each hub for better braking. Rather than do that can you buy shoes for a particular vehicle that by default has both shoes longer or is there a manufacturer who makes both shoes the same length?

Yes, I know ... disc brakes are better but that is not a current option.

Short shoe goes on the front. Has something to do with the self energizing effect with drum brakes.

agree with the above both in position and basic reason.

Good to confirm that but I am hoping to find a manufacturer that makes both shoes long. I think it was a Buick site or circle track post where I read about having the longer shoe in both positions.
