At a cruise last night, my grandfather met a guy he retired with at the plant. He said back in the early '70s he grabbed (sticky fingers :p) a bunch of Emblems for '70-'72 SuperSports from the plant.
How much do you think they would be worth?

Not a lot more than the reproduction emblems go for. For the most part, one of the few areas where reproduction parts do okay is exterior emblems. Some people still prefer the original GM stuff, but the proliferation of readily available nice reproductions keeps the NOS prices down.

I remember Danchuk ads showing 57 Chev emblems and comparing originals to thiers. Theirs had better and cleaner castings, better finishing, and were about the same price back then (early 90s?)

If the emblems are in the original packaging it will raise the value. Some of these deals, the box it's in seems to be worth more than the part.

I can say first hand that in a lot of cases...Bowtie is right!
I bought 1969 Z/28 emblems and 1966 "big car" 427 big block flag emblems (among others) directly from Eddie Hopper in Garden Grove, Ca. in 1979 ( I worked for Hardin Olds then). I bought them because I thought they looked cool (I had a Nova at the time)...and I still have them.
To be honest...the paint quality sucks...so much that in the flag area on the big block flag emblems...the black and white coloring is shifted WAY off.
Oh well...they only were a few bucks each when I bought them! Then again...I paid less than $40 for a set of wheel whell moldings for my brothers 1967 RS/SS Camaro, and less than $30 for a SS real tail panel for my 1970's Nova as well. I got those from Cone Chevrolet in Fullerton!:hurray:
