I am getting ready to purchase some 15" SS rallys (repos) for my 69 and I have no idea about backspacing. Can someone let me know what I should get, thanks for your help!

I run the orig. on my 69 with 275's and they fit very nicely. I believe they have 4in. backspace. In my neighborhood the orig. can be had for $75 or less if they're later date codes.

4.5" backspace is perfect for an 8" SS wheel on your 69. You can fit a 255, 275, or 295 with no fitment or rubbing issues. The Chevy 8" Vette beauty rings will not work on these though. The center of the wheel is smaller so the rim shell itself recesses further towards the center and the Vette ring contacts this before they seat. You will have to buy aftermarket that are made to fit these or find Olds 15" rings either original or aftermarket as they will fit just fine. I know all this from personal experience on more than one set of wheels!

Just so you know, 15x10's with 5.5 bs fit no problem.

The distance from the mounting surface to the inside lip of the wheel.

That being the mounting surface to the lip of the Back of the rim. I.E. the more backspace you have, the farther in the wheel will sit towards the center of the car.
