I have made improvements to my '64 Malibu by replacing the booster, wheel cylinders front and rear brake shoes, springs and wheel cylinders and a dual master cylinder. The rear brakes are supplied by the rear master cylinder feed and the front brakes are fed by the front master cylinder feed. The original brake distribution block is used by capping off the port that went to the rear brakes.
The master cylinder and brake lines were bled.
Now I can't seem to get the front shoes to engage the drum when applying the brake pedal. I have adjusted the front shoes to lightly touch the drum so they wouldn't have too much self-adjusting to do. The rear brakes seem to work fine but it's all the stopping power I have. The new dual master cylinder was made for a '66 or '67 chevelle. All of the research I have done tells me that both cylinder tubing ports have a residual valve installed. The pedal is not spongey. I can depress the pedal completely to the floor and get barely adequate stopping using the rear brakes but pumping the pedal does no good.
Can anyone tell me what to look for or what I have done wrong?
