So after owning my 69 for a little over a year, I was cleaning out the trunk today and decided to take the spare tire cover off. Never had any reason to look at it before, knew it was a full size spare. Anyway, it turns out to be the original date coded JA wheel with what looks to be unused Uniroyal Tiger Paw tire. Pretty cool!!

That's pretty cool. I would never run that tire on the street; it is just too old to be trusted. (like me)

Great find Andre. The Tiger Paws were on my 69 RS/SS Camaro and 70 Chevelle SS which I purchased both new. In my opinion the style is the best of all the White lettered tires. Wish they would get reproduced :(

You may already know this, but an original White lettered, unused Tiger Paw is worth GOLD these days.

Thanks Don, any idea what its worth? More curious than anything.

Thanks.

I have four Uniroyals and REALLY need a spare. Driving on them would be risky.

Don't drive on that. Don't even put it on your car! As said, too old to be trusted. Sure is cool though thats for sure.

any idea what its worth?

I would guess the tire alone is worth in the neighborhood of $800 -$1000

I think there was someone else on this board a few weeks ago who found he had the same tire in his trunk....I'm thinking it was someone from TN...

back in the early 90's when we were parting out and junking all sorts of late 60's/early 70's cars, we'd run across unused Poly Glas and Tiger Paw spare tires in the tunks of cars.
they made the best smoke shows when bolted to the rear of whatever POS car we were driving at the time..

Why don't you contact Coker and tell them you have a new "OLD" tire that MAYBE they should be re-popping and see what they say??

They should start reproducing these and THEN we would see a turn around in the economy.

Must be the raised white lettering,I have an original Redline Tigerpaw F70-14 and found no interest in it.:(

Cool find, all I found in my old 70 was a "piece."

Nice find, my 69 still has its spare as well. I think its a Goodyear polycushion or something like that

If it really is worth that much, I may have to throw it on ebay to see what happens. I would have no intentions of trying to assemble a complete set, neat to have but money like that can go along way for other improvements :D
