My 66 SS has the original mag trim caps (rings). I think they were also available on the 65 Z-16. Is there factory tool to remove these w/o damage? Also if I have to rig something up, any suggestions to r&r these beauties?
Thanks,
DWR

Do you mean the simulated mag wheel covers? If so, don't know of any factory tool. Maybe use a big screwdriver insulated with some duct tape? Jim

No FACTORY tool.. just the usual care and patience.. pad a BIG Flat head screwdriver and get it behind the cover, not behind the ridge.. get it popped out a bit and then use your Hands and PULL!! They bend and dent easily
Thanks guys,
I'll try your suggestions nd see what happens.

I have these caps on my 67 now. I like the look now, back in the day we used to laugh and point out those phony mag wheel caps!!! Age changes you!!
Have any of you figured out how to get a good wheel balance using these caps? They are heavy, and unbalanced from the factory. My wheels and tires are balanced...put the caps on and hold on to the steering wheel tight, cause you are going to shake.
