I know your not saying Harley techs are rich because thats the farthest thing from the truth. If your good and work in a flat rate shop you`ll make good money but not even close to what a automotive mechanic makes. I was making $19hr at my last dealership and I was the 3rd highest payed tech there and the top guy was paid about $25-$26hr. Decent money but hardly rich.

Well I know more well off auto mechanics than well off Harley mechanics. It`s a fact that auto mechanics get paid more than Harley mechanics. With 7 years expereince in the automotive world I would be making more than $19 per hour and would most likley be flat rate. The only flat rate Harley shop I know of closed down a few months ago. The mechanic trade in general sucks right now anyway. I`m glad I`m getting out.
