I may not replace my front springs this weekend but wondering is there something you can put between the coils to make them stiffer of higher.
if so what are they??? I am not a mechanic, just someone who likes to drive Chevelles!!!
I am replacing back shocks and coil springs this weekend. But wondered about a temp fix on the front until I can do it right.
Its a 1972 chevelle, 4 dr, 350 auto with ac if that helps any.

There are the "turn in spacers" that can be inserted into a few coils of each side to raise the front an inch or so. There used to be several types to use for this - rubber and twist in aluminum of a couple of types. Advance or NAPA may still carry them. JC Whitney may have them too.

Thanks - after going to JC Whitney to look for these. I found this:

I was hoping to get these local if possible.

They make rubber spacers that go in between the coils. Summit sells them.

hmmm...what do you think would be better??
Would you put in just one rubber piece and how does it stay in place
I think Pep Boys sells something like this also

The better way to do this is to put spacers in between the coils and the bottom a-arms.
I want to say either poly or rubber here..

stick some "spring rubbers" in there like the NASCAR boys do.

The ones in that picture are the best but make some noise when the spring compresses. The twist in ones tend to loosen and fly out.
