Where is the clip that holds the front E brake cable on a 69 chevelle SS?
I seen that the cable goes thru the frame ,then behind the inner fender and thru the fire wall to the E brake assy. but there is no clip where it goes thru the fire wall.
I seen on some cars that after it goes thru the fire wall they have a prong like clip but the 69 is different.
Thanks for any help

It might have a hairpin type clip, is there a wide groove for one to fit in?

I seen that the front brake cable had like a sealer like silicon on the place where it goes thru the fire wall and under the sealer was the prong type clip but alittle farther down the cable is the grove you are talking about and I'm not sure where it gets cliped to the car or frame.
The cable was off the car and i'm trying to figure out how it goes on.
Luckly I seen on anothewr car how it went behind the inner fender, I would of never figured that one out but on that car the cable was just hanging there,
Thanks guys for any help

I just took mine off last week moving towards my frame-off...

Mine, a '69 Malibu (not SS), had the spring clip holding the one end to the frame, and what I can only describe as 'circle of fingers' clip, designed from the factory to be pushed through the firewall, and stay there. PITA to get the cable off the firewall.

fyi, on mine, it was part of the cable assy, unless memory is skewed from a long weekend pulling the engine.

Let me know if you'd like me to double check the cable. Mine may be available for sale if you need it.
