My turn signal switch is wallowed out and in dire need of a replacement. Does anyone know where a new one can be purchased for a 1971 tilt column? I checked the usual sources like Ausleys and Ground Up and they only have the turn signal switch for the non tilt cars.

Try your local GM parts counter. AC/Delco has one D6208, Did not say tilt or non tilt. The GM parts manual list 1997963 for the switch for 69-71 all. According to that I don`t think tilt or non tilt matters.

Went to my local Chevy dealership today. They have in the past really went out of their way to help and it is still the same bunch of guys that work there. I asked about buying a turn signal switch and they told me that they are having a hard time getting even parts for the new vehicles lately since the bankruptcy and could not get any old parts in. I checked the D6208 part number and found a few places that sell it. Anyone know for sure that this will work??

NAPA (http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=ECH&PartNumber=DL6206&Description=Turn+Signal+Switch) would be a good place to look..

Update: I found one at my local parts store and according to the parts guy there is no difference between the tilt and non-tilt columns. It is a BWD part # S3250. Worked great. The only deal was that it came with a short adapter that had to be used so you probably wouldn't use it on a car that needs to be completely original.
