Hi. I'm new to this board, and to the muscle car world in general. I'm looking for a nice polished [staggered] look for my '72 Malibu. I'd like to go with a 16x10 in the rear, and a 16x8 in the front. In the back, I'm hoping to go at least 285/50/16, prefferably 305/50/16. Or something similar. Here are my questions...

-Can this be done for around $1500 (because that's all I have to spend, before I'm forced to sleep in the car by a disapproving wife).

-Does anyone have a similar set up, that can rattle off specs, brands, and sizes that point me in the right direction? I can't find anything online, because there's just too much friggin' information on this here internet.

-Can the size I'm looking for be achieved without doing any body modification?

-Got pics?

I'm sure this line of questions have been asked dozens of times, but I figured I'd save myself some leg work by just asking them again. Thanks so much for any help you can offer.

Evan

Everyone has gone to 17", with 16" there isn't alot of choices.

Like Dave said, not a lot of 16" wheel choices. Vintage Wheel works does 16x7s and 16x8s, but that's not the biggest wheel and tire set up you can go with, and I'm sure you are wanting to do something a little bit larger to fill up the wheel wells.

I have some sets in 17" with tires, that are very affordable that I will PM you about.

Basically, for about 1500 bucks, I can do 17s with tires. I'll PM you the details.

Found you another option in 16" too, the Billet Specialties Street Lites come in 16x8 and 16x9.5. Now we have to find you tires...

BFG still has a 295-50-16, Tirerack has them in stock.
